What is EAP?

An employee assistance program (EAP) is a confidential service providing professional assistance to employees and their dependents. It includes services in counseling, assessment and referral program to manage personal and work of employees that interfere with their work performance. EAP deals with a spectrum of emotional and behavioral issues that affect the employees, from relationship to stress, mood disturbances and anxiety. In addition, EAP also provides a precautious function to address emotional issues of employees before it manifests disruptions in workplace. Since employers recognize that its employees are most valuable; EAP is therefore developed to care for the mental well-being of an organization and its employees.
