Why do people avoid seeking for help when they have problems? |
Asking for help is not consistent with our traditional Chinese culture and it is considered a sign of weakness, especially for men. This concept has negatively affected our thinking and behaviors. We tend to hide everything in our back, and we try putting on an "I'm okay" mask to try deceiving those around. However, it does not help at all but only make the situation worst. The positive way of action is: we need courage to seek for help and to tell others what is bothering us.

No. Some people do not realize the importance of maintaining mental health. They think it is just a matter of time that feelings will subside or they use other unhealthy ways like addicting to eat, alcohol, caffeine and cigarette to help them.
